Proactive Steps for Cellulite Reduction…

Cellulite is one of those gifts of nature that nearly all of us have to deal with as we exit our carefree teenage years. Those bumps and dimples seem to appear out of nowhere, and you begin to dread the summer swimsuit and short shorts season.

So what can be done? Fortunately, you do have some weapons in the fight.

Improve Circulation…

Regular Exercise is key in your cellulite reduction regimen. You’ll want to first focus on getting your lymph fluid moving, and one of the best tools for this is a mini trampoline or rebounder. A few bounce sessions a day could help you see noticeable improvement. Toning up your legs with exercises such as goblet squats, kettle bell swings and walking lunches may also help.

Manage Your Diet and Drop Some lbs…

Although it seems that cellulite is basically a skin issue, it’s actually closely tied to the storage of excess fat. So, if you find yourself significantly overweight, you may need to make some alterations to your diet.

For most of us that means cutting out excess carbs and sugar. It’s so easy to binge on cookies or chips when you first get home after a grueling day at the office (followed by an arduous commute). If instead, you have a grilled chicken breast or tilapia filet along with some non-starchy vegetables (think broccoli, green beans or spinach) ready to warm up for a quick dinner, you’ll stop your post-work cravings before they get out-of-hand.

Try Dry Skin Brushing…

This may seem unusual at first, but dry skin brushing is often an effective way to detoxify your skin as well as improve blood and lymph circulation. Check out this article for more information.

Consider Supplementing With These…

Alfalfa

Alfalfa is a natural diuretic that helps balance the body’s fluids and reduces edema and swelling. Alfalfa powder is fairly inexpensive and can be found in your local health food store.

Borage Oil, Hemp Oil or Evening Primrose Oil

All of these contain significant amounts of gamma linoleic acid (GLA), which helps strengthen Cell Walls. You can find Borage and Evening Primrose oil in capsule form in most grocery and drug stores. A combination of Hemp oil and lime juice makes a delicious dressing for your salad.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a good detoxifier and assists the body in balancing pH levels. The Bragg brand (with “The” Mother) is excellent and has a delicious Morning Pep drink recipe on the bottle.

You have to be proactive to manage cellulite, but following the steps outlined above could give you an extra edge in the battle.
